More Utah families are able to compare how well their health plans are performing thanks to the new Utah Department of Health 2009 Health Plan Consumer Satisfaction Report. In past years the report contained satisfaction data from Health Maintenance Organization (HMOs) members only. This year members of Utah’s Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) were also surveyed. In total, 7,194 respondents rated selected plans that cover a total of 1.6 million members across Utah.

BTW, since we last talked, Claudia Nakano at DCC formed a "Social Media Roundtable" comprised of enthusiasts within our department. She'd like to come up with some guidelines or policy eventually. George Schoemaker at the Arts Council has set up a GoToMeeting webinar on July 30 at 10 a.m. with two local business experts to help us understand the issues better.

I'm pretty busy this week, but maybe sometime later in the month we could create a group for DEQ and invite all the people there in the various division who play some role in preparing information for the public and see if the Utah Hive can be a useful tool for communication?
